Andras Huszti
Senior Operations & Delivery Lead

I help hardware-software teams get unstuck and ship. I won’t build your strategy, but I will make sure the one you have turns into a product.

My Operating Model

I’m Andras Huszti, a senior operations and delivery lead based in Helsinki.

I spent 4 years coordinating consumer electronics from ideation through mass production, and 9 years before that leading software teams. Over that time, the most important skill I've developed is helping people talk and hear each other.
  • Hardware scope
Coordination of Industrial & mechanical design, packaging, certification & type approvals, production line setup, QA, inspections, and manufacturing ramp-up
  • Software scope
Coordination of backend, frontend, web platforms, mobile applications (native and cross-platform) development, mobile UX/design, and cross-API integrations.
I don’t code or read schematics, and I don't aspire to. Instead, I rely on experts and ensure they actually communicate. If both sides understand each other and respect the constraints of time and money, that's all I need. That said, from P&L to pressure chambers, I know enough to hold my own in any room.
  • Recent select projects
A to Z coordination: niche projector, room booking device, custom workflow production management system

Coordination of aspects: smart lights, smart gym equipment, electric boat, niche smartphone
  • Operating context
    • Long-term experience managing distributed, cross-cultural teams
    • Typical setup: ODMs in Asia, development and design teams across Europe, multiple stakeholders in different time zones
    • Acted as the central coordination and communication hub between all parties
    • Focus on alignment, accountability, transparency, and realistic timelines under budget pressure
I won’t build your product strategy, but I will make sure it ships. If you’re tired of ODM surprises, timeline fantasies, and watching your CTO burn 60% of their time on coordination instead of architecture, I am the operational layer you’re missing.

I work best alongside a CTO and/or Product Manager, feeding them intelligence and serving as their "trusted operator": from pushing back on BOM line items to advising on feature priorities based on production realities.
  • Experience at a glance
    • ~13 years in IT and product development (since 2013)
    • End-to-end ownership of products from ideation to mass production and market launch
    • Development budgets: $50k–$1M
    • Extensive experience managing hardware + software development in parallel
    • Primary role: aligning dispersed teams, clarifying ownership, and keeping delivery moving under real-world constraints
    • Built and managed teams of up to 40 people
    • Have travelled to manufacturing facilities in Asia on multiple occasions

My trenches

  • 1. ODM responsibility shifting

Situation: ODM tries to offload risk (EOL components, stockpiling, decisions) onto the client.

My role: Protect client interests, clarify contractual responsibility, and negotiate pragmatic resolutions without blowing up the relationship.
  • 2. Quality & resourcing degradation

Situation: ODM deprioritizes the client, assigns weaker teams, or burns people out — impacting quality and timelines.

My role: Escalate diplomatically, reset expectations, improve morale, and secure better resourcing.
  • 3. Information asymmetry & opacity

Situation: ODM withholds information, reports issues late, or delays communication to retain leverage.

My role: Establish transparency rituals (risk reviews, documentation drills, response SLAs) and change communication culture.
  • 4. Capability gaps & technical dead ends

Situation: ODM lacks the skills or motivation to solve a specific technical issue.

My role: Coordinate direct collaboration between senior engineers (client <> ODM), including on-site workshops.
  • 5. Timeline volatility & delivery pressure

Situation: Shifting timelines, mixed methodologies (HW waterfall vs SW agile), and unrealistic commitments.

My role: Translate between approaches, reset milestones, and keep accountability without fantasy planning.
  • 6. Major disruption & project reset

Situation: Funding loss, strategic pivot mid-development, or stakeholder collapse.

My role: Manage fallout cleanly: preserve assets, document decisions, wind down or reboot without chaos.

"I have worked with Andras more than a decade now and he is one of the most calm, organized, efficient and methodical people I have been fortunate enough to work with. Great at using the latest technology and methods to reach a hyper-productive state, but also happy to share best practices with his team.

He is great at thinking through workflows and mapping what-if outcomes and risk scenarios. He has also mastered decomposing big and poorly defined goals into clear actionable steps. I’ve seen him do this on many occasions and it did wonders for clarity and accountability in the team."

"I had the pleasure of working with Andras on a unique high-tech product. Andras did an outstanding job overseeing both hardware and software production, as well as expertly managing communication among teams from several countries.

He has a rare ability to hold everyone accountable, ensuring that promises are kept and deadlines are met, regardless of who is involved — if you make a promise, Andras will make you deliver on it."

"A pivotal moment came early in the project when, in one of the group calls, András had created a very clear and detailed list of actions based on what was said in the call. Afterward, he was very diligent about following up on that list. I quickly realized he never lets anything slip.

He never gives up, not on a single follow-up point. That was the moment when I thought to myself, “This guy, you should work with him forever.” András’ relentless follow-through and attention to detail are qualities that I truly value, and they have been consistent throughout our time working together."
